Mithuna is the third rasi — a 30° arc of the sidereal zodiac, the sign Western astrology calls Gemini. Its lord is Mercury; its element is air and its modality dual (adapting). The classical symbol is a couple (man and woman), and in the kalapurusha — the zodiac mapped onto the cosmic body — it rules the arms and shoulders.
Range and quickness. Mithuna placements pick up new domains, new rooms, and new vocabularies faster than anyone, and they connect people who would never have met. Wit is the native currency, curiosity the renewable fuel.
Breadth taxes depth. Projects at eighty percent, interests that expire quietly, feelings analyzed instead of felt — these are the recurring invoices. Duality can also mean arguing both sides so well that choosing feels like a loss. Fewer threads, held longer, is the whole cure.
